USC basketball’s Jordan McLaughlin was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week after leading the Trojans to victory in the Las Vegas Classic.

Fresh off of tournament MVP honors at the Las Vegas Classic, Jordan McLaughlin took home Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week recognition.

The Trojan point guard was credited for his contributions in three USC victories last week.

On Friday, McLaughlin played a key role in the 94-92 overtime victory over Wyoming. In addition to his 22 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals, the junior hit a layup with 4.5 second left in the game to secure the victory for the Trojans.

USC got to the title game Cowboys with an 83-75 win over Missouri State. McLaughlin had 19 points on the day, adding five assists, four rebounds and a steal.

Starting off the week, the Trojans bested Cornell at the Galen Center on Sunday night with McLaughlin supplying 16 points, nine assists, three rebounds and two steals.

Across the three wins, McLaughlin averaged 19 points, 6.3 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals.

More from Reign of Troy

McLaughlin is the first Trojan to be honored as the Pac-12 Player of the Week this season. In fact, he is the first USC basketball player recognized by the conference since Elijah Stewart in December of 2014.

Though USC lost key players like Julian Jacobs and Nikola Jovanovic to the pros and has dealt with key injuries this season, McLaughlin’s leadership has kept the ship steady.

The Trojans stand as one of six undefeated teams in Division I, finishing the non-conference slate at 13-0.

On Wednesday, USC will look to keep the momentum going into conference play when they go north to face Oregon State. They’ll take on Oregon on Friday before heading back home next week.
