Four-star offensive tackle Aaron Banks announced his Top 16 schools Sunday, listing USC football among his favorites.

El Cerrito offensive tackle Aaron Banks has a Sweet 16 for 2017.

Among those 16, Banks named USC football, along with a host of other contenders.

“First I would like to thank God for Blessing me with all the opportunities that I have today. I would also like to thank my Family, Friends, and Coaches for guiding me so far through this process,” Banks wrote on Twitter. “Lastly I would like to thank all the coaches that have recrutied me that did not make this list, you are greatly appreciated.”

In addition to the Trojans, Banks list includes Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Cal, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Washington, and Wisconsin.

At 6-foot-7, 344 pounds, Banks is a big-bodied tackle like USC’s all-american candidate Zach Banner. He is ranked No. 21 among offensive tackles for the class of 2017 by the 247 Sports composite and checks in as the No. 20 player in the state of California.

USC has recruited the offensive line particularly well over the last few cycles despite changing offensive line coaches on a year to year basis.

More from Reign of Troy

With both starting tackles due to graduate after the 2016 season, the Trojans should be in good hands with the likes of Chuma Edoga, Clayton Johnston, Roy Hemsley, Nathan Smith, E.J. Price and Frank Martin already on campus.

Even with that collection of talent, continuing to mine the local area for top players in the trenches is key to future success.

The 2017 class features two offensive linemen, including three-star tackle Andrew Vorhees.

Along with Vorhees, the Trojans have pledges from running back Stephen Carr, center Brett Neilon, tight end Erik Krommenhoek, athlete Randal Grimes, wide receiver Marlon Williams, safety C.J. Miller and linebackers Juliano Falaniko and Daniel Green.
