There are a lot of unknowns in collegiate sports. USC knows that the changing tides, however, can bring a lot of opportunity. Many aspects will likely never be the same as they once were. Instead of hopelessly clinging to the past, the Trojans appear ready to face the new terrain head-on, knowing that there will be multiple different avenues for growth.
Released by the USC social media page on X, there was almost something of a hype video in response to the late Friday ruling by Judge Claudia Wilken. The NCAA House settlement makes it so that student-athletes can be paid directly, and NIL deals have to be vetted by a clearinghouse.
Knowing these developments, although maybe not necessarily the specifics, USC has positioned itself to take advantage of the new landscape. Partnering with Learfield, for example, will likely prove to be an advantageous business move for Trojan athletics.
The post showed football GM Chad Bowden speaking on his willingness to embrace chance and tackle (pun intended) any obstacles that would come on the other side of the number of ongoing developments in collegiate sports.
It remains a fact that when things are truly on a level playing field in terms of the rules and guidelines, USC is better positioned than a lot of schools in most areas. Because of the new terms that have been established by the court ruling, USC will look to take advantage of the alumni support, infrastructure, and overall fan base to help provide an edge throughout the athletic programs.
Genuine sense of levelheaded demeanor from USC
This is likely why the programs, in this case, the voice of Bowden, appear to be confident in the ability of USC to push forward and extend boundaries beyond what the rest of the competition will be able to hope to keep up with.
Others may have been able to take advantage of where USC has been in recent memory. Those days are coming to an end very quickly.
