The reason why the NCAA House settlement ruling helps a school like USC is because of the power within the institution itself. Based on the Trojans being in Los Angeles and how much support and backing the university has, there are many advantages that favor USC that do not apply to others whatsoever.
Naturally, the On3 crew spoke on the latest NIL developments and how they will affect various programs throughout the country. When speaking about USC, they mentioned, in a post shared by Zooloo_Trojan on X, the show's hosts spoke on how these factors will invariably allow the Trojans to have a leg up over most of the rest of athletics.
Co-defensive coordinator Eric Henderson quote shared the post with the clip and offered a simple 'no cap' message.
This USC staff knows, for football in particular, what this court ruling means for USC. As is, recruiting has looked much better only since January. Despite the claims of others, that was before any considerable advantages in terms of who may or may not have been offered what.
Now, everyone will know that the Trojans will be able to open the pocketbook a little deeper than most other programs. In the case of another school willing to match or even outbid, USC will be able to hang around in the picture in that regard, knowing that their overall budget will be able to be stretched further than most other schools.
Because this is now allowed, it is far from cheating or USC scamming the system. Although the same, predictable critics that one would expect to make the baseless claim of the Trojans simply buying everyone have shown their faces yet again since late Friday evening.
What most are missing from the USC recruiting approach
What the naysayers are missing is how coach Lincoln Riley and GM Chad Bowden are not approaching recruiting from a money standpoint at all. They are, instead, making a genuine effort to filter out those hungry to wear the Cardinal and Gold and find the best fits for the program, from more than even just an athletic standpoint and certainly more than simply waving money in the face of recruits.
Because of this approach and the added inherent advantage that USC will now have moving forward that is well within the rules, the Trojans' recruiting success is only truly just starting to take off.
