One aspect that continues to pay off for USC is the way in which coach Lincoln Riley continues to build out this Trojan staff. There are a lot of experienced people in the building, including at the collegiate and NFL levels.
Part of why many USC commits are excited about joining the program is because of the type of people that the Trojans have placed throughout the positions of authority on the team.
Another more recent hire was revealed on Wednesday as The Athletic's Bruce Feldman shared coach Adrian Klemm will be joining the Cardinal and Gold, helping out on the defensive side of the ball.
The former NFL offensive lineman and three-time Super Bowl winner with the New England Patriots has had many stops, including in college on the West Coast.
Then in the Pac-12, two of his previous stints included being the associate head coach and run game coordinator for Oregon and UCLA. Perhaps the aspect that should excite Trojan fans the most is the fact that he is a proven recruiter and knows what that part of the job entails and has done so at a high level previously.
Recruiting in particular has seen a noticeable improvement. Introducing someone else to USC that can help to continue that momentum is something that will help the Trojans to be able to further make gains in an area in which the program is starting to separate itself once again.
Continuing professional coaching trend at USC
Coach Klemm also enters with NFL coaching experience. This is something that the current student-athletes will often speak of and point to as something they enjoy about what the Trojans are building. With the goal being to make it to the next level, being able to receive coaching and feedback from someone who has worked directly with NFL athletes is seen as a huge plus.
Coach Klemm's prior professional coaching experience included time with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots. While his focus there was on the offensive line, it is safe to assume that he will serve as an extra set of eyes on defense in the trenches in particular for USC.
