USC football has officially brought in 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison in the transfer portal. The best wide receiver in America, Addison will be the No. 1 wideout on the team. SC already had good depth at receiver coming into this year, but didn't have that ELITE WR1 after Drake London left for the NFL Draft.
The only receiver in the country who was better than Addison last year was London. When London went down to injury in the eighth game of the season, however, Addison was rewarded with the Biletnikoff for being that next guy.
To replace London-- the first wideout taken in the 2022 NFL Draft--with the receiver who is the best in the country now that London is in the NFL, is going to have tremendous impacts on this offense in 2022. Addison had 100 grabs for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns last season in an offensive system nowhere near Lincoln Riley's level.
Now that Jordan Addison will play in Lincoln Riley's system, USC football will be nearly impossible to stop.
USC Football Head Coach Lincoln Riley is widely considered to be the best offensive coach in America, with specifically the best system in the nation as well. Plugging and playing Addison could result in absolutely SCARY numbers. That's saying quite a bit, because he already put a scary kind of stat line together last year.
Now, he also gets to play with a QB he already has a connection with in Caleb Williams. Kenny Pickett was his QB last year, and he was great. The difference, however, is that he already has built-in chemistry with Williams. They are from the same area and built a relationship there.
That was a major reason Addison was speculated to head to SC as soon as it was reported that he was considering the portal. To put the best receiver in the country with a top three quarterback in the country who already has chemistry with him will be unfair for Pac-12 defenses.
Many college football fans and analysts all over the country were extremely angry when Addison was rumored to be interested in USC. The thought of USC becoming a monster again was terrifying for them. Now that Addison has made the move, USC fans will have even more opportunities to laugh at the anger and whining from opposing fanbases. What a time to be alive, and what a time to be a USC fan.
