Among the number of questions the USC has entering into the season is how the new-look running back room will look and perform. There is, however, a great deal of confidence within the Trojans coaching staff regarding Waymond Jordan.

As shared by the LA Times' Ryan Kartje on X, coach Anthony Jones made some interesting comparisons for the Trojan newcomer. According to the position coach, Jordan is someone who is looking like and has the potential of a true NFL talent.

Among some of the previous running backs that coach Jones has coached before while at Memphis include Antonio Gibson and Tony Pollard. For coach Jones, the well-roundedness and upside have him able to easily speak so highly about Jordan.

This is the exact sort of thing that USC fans are not only anticipating but also hoping to see used on a regular basis as a part of the offense.

At the moment, the fandom of college football as a whole does not appear to be too high on the potential of Jordan. When listening to the staff and this latest comment from coach Jones, there is plenty of reason to believe that this will be changed soon, however.

Ready to take next progression at USC

Jordan will be one of the more underrated players, let alone RBs, in the nation at the moment.

While a lot of attention is on the quarterback and the wide receiver room, Jordan is going to headline one of the units that can be poised for something of a breakout year in 2025.

In the event that the offense starts to lean a little too much on the pass game, expect USC fans everywhere to demand to see Jordan in particular to receive more touches. The JUCO Player of the Year is ready to show that he can handle and excel at the highest levels in college football.
