Jazzy Davidson last made an impression during the Nike Hoop Summit. At the Jordan Brand Classic, the USC signee was part of the effort that saw Team Flight defeat Team Air by a score of 128-108. In something of a twist, this matchup finished with an Elam ending. This meant that once the teams had reached a certain point in the fourth quarter, the leading team would determine the target score. With the mark then set at 127, the eventual winners ended up comfortably pulling away from their competition on the day.
Once again, the soon-to-be USC freshman showcased her all-around ability at both ends. In one aspect, the exhibition showed another positive aspect of her game. During the aforementioned Hoop Summit, Davidson took over and looked like the clear-cut number one option for her team. In the nation's capital, the five-star signee took something of a backseat as Aaliyah Chavez won the MVP of the game.
Even with her teammate on the day being the primary ball handler and initiator on offense, Davidson still found a way to have a big impact on the game as she finished with 19 points and four assists on 8-of-13 shooting from the field.
From her three-point shooting to her defensive presence, the Oregon native excelled in all areas of the court. Her shooting form is pure, as evidenced by her jumpers, as well as her trip to the free-throw line, where she swished her attempts.
Plays both ends exceptionally well
Add the way that she moves without the ball and gets out in transition; there are so many positives to talk about when evaluating her game. Then being able to finish in a crowded area around the rim and not be rattled by the frontcourt contests.
In a further highly encouraging sign, Davison showed that she is comfortable being able to seamlessly switch from being the go-to option for the team to run the offense through. She also demonstrated that she can still be an excellent supporting option for her team.
Guarding other teams' guards or being the person whose pass finds the person who then assists for a bucket, Davidson is a competitive, complete basketball player. Coach Lindsay Gottlieb has an excellent freshman coming to campus soon.
