Jamil Muhammad is going to a great situation for himself. The edge rusher will join the Los Angeles Rams and have the chance to be further developed by coach Sean McVay. Continuing with one of the best current developers in the NFL is something of an ideal landing spot for the two-year Trojan.

Every franchise focuses on different aspects. The Rams excel at improving and putting those on their depth chart in the best possible position to contribute, even as a rookie. WAAYTV reporter Trevor Denton shared on X that Muhammad would be signing with the NFC West LA team. The news was shared following this year's NFL Draft.

He will join a roster that has young players, like Braden Fiske and Byron Young, who make it a habit of getting to the quarterback. As a whole, the pass-rushing element is still looking to replace the production of recently retired Aaron Donald. This allows for Muhammad to have a good initial NFL landing spot with the Rams.

Others will take the more immediate attention during the week's preparations. Offensive lines will not game plan with Muhammad as the priority. Knowing this should free him up to have favorable matchups for him to take advantage of. It isn't too much to where he won't be able to carve himself a role out either.

First words after becoming an NFL player

When speaking with Denton, Muhammad gave this message after hearing the news. He said:

"You can either quit, or you can keep fighting. I've never been the type to quit anything."

His spirited final 'Fight On' before going to the next level is fitting. Now, being able to stay in LA, he'll want to make an impact with the Rams. There are a lot of good things with him getting a chance under coach Sean McVay.

He'll need to make an impression in camp as an unrestricted free agent. Knowing what he can do and the chance he'll have to make the roster and be high on the depth chart to see some snaps on the defensive side of the ball.
