USC Rookies in the NFL Get Jersey Numbers

In the span of a week, ten Trojans began their NFL careers by way of both the draft and undrafted free agency. Now, nearly all of the USC rookies have been minted with brand new jersey numbers to carry them into the next phase of their football lives.

Leonard Williams has yet to sign his rookie contact, so he remains numberless on the New York roster. However, he appeared at the Jets rookie camp in the No. 62 jersey. Damon Harrison, a fellow defensive lineman, currently wears the No. 94 which Williams donned at USC.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Friday that first round draftee Nelson Agholor will trade the No. 15 he wore as a Trojan to wear No. 17, a jersey made famous by Harold Carmichael.

In Cincinnati, the Bengals roster lists Josh Shaw as No. 26, the number he originally wore at USC after transferring from Florida.

Buck Allen will be wearing a familiar number when fans first see him take the field in Baltimore. The Ravens roster has Allen in the No. 37 jersey.

Randall Telfer and Hayes Pullard, the newest members of the Cleveland Browns, have each taken on a new numeric identity in the NFL.

Telfer adopted the No. 86, as his No. 82 is currently taken by fellow Browns tight end Gary Barnidge.

Pullard picked up No. 40 in place of the No. 10 he worse as a captain for USC. Besides not being a linebacker number, No. 10 is owned by kicker Garrett Hartley.

Moving into undrafted free agent territory, Gerald Bowman posted an Instagram photo of his No. 34 jersey for the Ravens. He had worn No. 27 for USC, a number which is donned by Asa Jackson, a cornerback and return specialist in Baltimore.

George Farmer was spotted at the Dallas Cowboys rookie camp in a No. 19 jersey, the one left vacant by Miles Austin last year. The No. 8 he donned at USC is vacant, but restricted from being worn by receivers in the NFL.

Aundrey Walker is listed on the Miami Dolphins roster as No. 60. He wore No. 70 as a Trojan but that number was snatch up by fellow rookie lineman Ja’Wuan James.

J.R. Tavai, who was picked up by the Titans after going undrafted, has not yet been assigned a number.
