All-Time Series: 5-1

Last Meeting: USC 66, CS Northridge 59 on November 11, 2011

Following a disappointing loss in the season opener against Utah State, Andy Enfield’s Trojans will look to get things back on track Tuesday night against the Cal State Northridge Matadors.

CSUN has also welcomed a new head coach this season in Reggie Theus. His Matadors welcome back four of five starters from last season including the trio of senior guard Josh Green and junior forwards Stephan Hicks and Stephen Maxwell who have played in 202 games combined. They have collectively logged 2,547 points, 1,026 rebounds and 333 assists. The Matadors also feature nine new players on their 15-man roster. In the season opener against Hope International, Maxwell led the team with 23 points while Hicks and Green had 20 and 16 points respectively. They won 86-74.

The Trojans were unable to get the season started in similar fashion. Unfortunately, they couldn’t stick with the Aggies after they went on a 16-5 run to start the second half and lost 78-65. Still Enfield’s up-tempo style has created plenty of buzz around Trojans who could get a boost from a rejuvenated Galen Center crowd.

Senior J.T. Terrell is expected to be the Trojans main offensive threat, and he was at guard against Utah State, scoring 20 points including three 3-pointers. Joining him, senior center Omar Oraby and junior guard Byron Wesley will be called upon to keep USC moving. Both scored 15 points in the opener. Oraby led both teams with nine rebounds.
