The USC women's basketball team was dealt difficult news on Monday evening when it was announced that star guard Juju Watkins had torn her ACL and would miss the remainder of the NCAA Tournament. The Trojans rallied in the Round of 32 after Watkins' injury to take down Mississippi State, but they'll have to overcome a confident and capable Kansas State team in the Sweet 16 if they want to keep dancing.

USC vs. Kansas State prediction

While Juju Watkins' impact cannot be overstated, it cannot be understated just how good the rest of this USC Trojans team is. They put up 96 points on Monday against a good Mississippi State defense and the Trojans are still one of the best defensive units in the country, with or without Watkins.

Kiki Iriafen is playing her best basketball right now and seems more than capable of shouldering the load for USC. With Kansas State's Ayoka Lee not looking 100% healthy, it could be a long day for the Wildcats down low. Serena Sundell and Temira Poindexter are a lethal offensive duo for Kansas State as well, but the Trojans have a trio of freshmen who can go toe-to-toe with anybody in the country.

USC may not run away with this game like they did in the first two rounds, but the Wildcats are not deep enough to keep up with this Trojans team. Lindsay Gottlieb will rally the troops after Watkins' injury and be able to take down Kansas State en route to the program's second straight Elite 8 appearance.
