Top high school defensive lineman to visit USC this weekend

This weekend will be a big one on the recruiting trail for USC as the Trojans host Penn State. One of the biggest high school recruits set to visit Southern California for this massive football game is Bryce Perry-Wright.

Rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports.com, the Georgia native is the No. 6 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 10 overall player in Georgia for the class of 2026 according to the 247Sports.com composite rankings. He also holds offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Colorado, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas, and a host of other programs.

USC currently has six players committed in the class of 2026. Though it is very early in that recruiting cycle, the Trojans' class ranks 3rd nationally which is good for second in the Big Ten behind Penn State.

Lincoln Riley says LB Eric Gentry could redshirt

USC linebacker Eric Gentry has played in four games this year. However, because he is dealing with concussion issues, there is a chance that he could redshirt this season.

Head coach Lincoln Riley said Tuesday that Gentry's situation remains day-to-day but that the possibility of a redshirt also remains in play.

"I think it's always a possibility," Riley said. "You can't, you look across the country right now and you never know. No final decision has been made. We're going to keep evaluating just how he's feeling, how he's progressing."

Riley went on to say that "indefinitely" is the right word to use to describe Gentry's status at this point. Despite not playing against Minnesota, Gentry is second on the Trojan defense with 30 tackles. He also has two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

USC women's basketball star signs massive shoe deal with Nike

On the women's basketball front, USC's star guard Juju Watkins has inked a massive shoe deal with Nike. First reported by Shams Charania, the deal is supposed to be one of the most lucrative in women's basketball history.

The sophomore from L.A. originally signed a deal with Nike as a high school prospect. Now, that relationship is set to continue.

Last season, Watkins put up 27.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for the Trojans. Now, she could become one of the faces of the college game as a sophomore, especially given her new deal with the world's most recognizable athletic brand.
