The USC Trojans received a massive boost this week as elite 2028 commit Roye Oliver III announced he is reclassifying into the 2027 recruiting class.

While this move has been rumored for some time, making it official is a significant win for Lincoln Riley and his staff as they add another premier four-star talent to an already loaded group.

Oliver III is an elite talent as his rankings suggest, but his projected impact in Los Angeles goes far beyond a star rating. Hailing from Chandler, Arizona, and prepping at Hamilton High School, Oliver III was responsible for over 90 catches, nearly 2,000 yards, and a staggering 31 touchdowns last season.

Those eye-popping numbers earned him a unanimous All-American selection and make him a lethal addition to an already impressive USC wide receiver room which shares similar accolades.

Oliver III fits seamlessly into a Trojan recruiting class that continues to trend upward. While he currently holds a high four-star grade, many scouts believe he has a legitimate chance to earn that elusive fifth star before the 2027 cycle concludes.

Trojan fans won't have to wait long to see him in cardinal and gold, as he is expected to be an early enrollee on campus by January 2027. Notably, he is just the fourth commit in this class from outside of California though, at roughly 400 miles from Chandler to Los Angeles, he remains well within the Trojans west coast pipeline.
