Making comparisons can become somewhat telling, particularly when coming from a USC staff member. Alex Graham is someone who has a tremendous amount of potential and is someone who Trojan fans need to keep an eye on once the games start later in August.
As shared on X from LA Times reporter Ryan Kartje, defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn, Graham is already looking ahead of his years. To see and hear about the DB's progress already at this point of his young career is an excellent sign, particularly for the future of USC's secondary for years to come.
The comparison, though, that coach Lynn made was one that should encourage Trojan fans that much more when it comes to the potential of Graham. Coach Lynn, as mentioned in the same post, is similar to Kamari Ramsey in terms of his approach and overall football IQ.
To have the leader of the defense speak of Graham as someone in the light of the veteran speaks exceptionally well to the young defender's promise in Troy.
Ramsey deserves to be in conversations as one of, if not the best, safeties in America. Graham already being recognized as someone with that type of top-end potential and as someone who goes about his business in a similar way is a great sign.
Bright future ahead at USC
Graham is someone who enjoys playing a physical brand of football. For a side of the ball that will need to be tougher and will be putting up a stronger fight, having someone like Graham as a freshman is going to undoubtedly help in that aspect.
It is only the first year at USC for Graham. So far, the DB is doing what he needs to do to not only see the field a lot early on but to also have a tremendous long-term impact on the program in Los Angeles.
