Caleb Williams was supposed to be the savior for the Chicago Bears. He was supposed to come in and lead this team at least back to the playoffs and maybe even a Super Bowl at some point; however, he can't even beat guys in his same draft class so far.
In his rookie season, Williams faced both Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye, two quarterbacks who were selected after him in the 2024 NFL Draft. Williams lost to both of those guys. In Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season, Williams faced J.J. McCarthy in what was his first-ever start in the NFL, coming back from a knee injury last season.
Williams lost to him as well.

Williams is now 0-3 against quarterbacks in the same class he was drafted in, and some people are beginning to doubt he can help this team at all.
Sure, there are a lot of things that can be said to defend Williams. Last season was his rookie season, and he had to take over a team that was so bad. Well, Daniels took over almost just as bad a Washington Commanders team with a new head coach adn led them to the NFC Championship.
Well, this season, Williams is dealing with a new head coach as well. It is not like his new head coach, however, isn't a brilliant offensive mind coming from the Lions, who had one of the best offenses in the NFL last season.
Right now, things are not looking good for Caleb Williams in Chicago, but there is hope among the Bears fans and even USC fans that he will figure it out and begin to put everything together. Williams didn't look horrible in Week 1 Monday night as he went 21-for-35 for 210 yards and a passing touchdown, as well as six carries for 58 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Williams took care of the football adn didn't turn it over. If anything, his defense let him down in the fourth quarter by allowing the Vikings to come back and take a solid lead.
Let's not push the panic button on Williams just yet, but he does need to figure out how to beat guys he was drafted higher than.
