USC Trojans News: Leonard Williams' day, Lane Kiffin/Jaxson Dart end collapse, more
By Evan Desai
Former star USC Football Defensive Lineman Leonard Williams isn't even having one of the best years of his career, yet he still is proving to be a valuable asset to the New York Giants. Williams had a great game against one of the best teams in the NFC (Minnesota Vikings) on Sunday, securing a sack and two tackles for loss. He had two quarterback hits as well.
Williams had four tackles, and is now on pace to a 48-tackle season this year. That would be the fifth season of his career with 48 or more tackles in a year. He has most certainly lived up to the hype after leaving USC with 218 career tackles (three seasons) and 35.5 career tackles for loss.
The Giants are currently in line to make the playoffs. It would be the first postseason trip of Williams' career. Clearly, Williams continues to be a success in the league.

Former USC Football Head Coach Lane Kiffin and former USC Football Quarterback Jaxson Dart finished a horrible end to their season at Ole Miss on Wednesday. They got destroyed in the Texas Bowl by Texas Tech of all schools, and dropped to 8-5 after beginning their season 7-0 with a No. 7 ranking next to their name.
Kiffin looked more like the coach he was at USC this year, as opposed to the new and improved coach he looked like last year when he won 10 games. Dart had an underwhelming year--completing only 62.4% of his passes for eight adjusted pass yards per attempt. Kiffin, however, was extended towards the end of the season for the Rebels.

The Pac-12 advanced to 2-1 on the bowl season after Oregon's come-from-behind Holiday Bowl victory on Wednesday. They won by a score of 28-27 after Bo Nix threw a game-winning touchdown pass with just seconds left in the fourth quarter.
The other Pac-12 W came from the better Oregon program. The Beavers destroyed the Florida Gators by a score of 30-3 in the Las Vegas bowl early in bowl season. The loss came from Washington State in the LA Bowl, when they lost 29-6 to Fresno State--making SC's win over the Bulldogs look better.
