USC football updates on Kedon Slovis, Jeff Martin, Megan Mueller and more (3/2)
USC football had a great update on Kedon Slovis' health - whose top-line stats are worth remembering - while making two additions to the support staff.
The big news of the day, of course, was the release of USC's 2021 schedule.
Once you've checked that out, here's what else is going on around USC football on Tuesday, Mar. 2...
Kedon Slovis is fully healthy
The shoulder injury Kedon Slovis suffered against Oregon in the Pac-12 title game, which would have kept him from playing in a bowl game, isn't expected to be an issue for USC in 2021.
According to Clay Helton, Slovis is fully healed and should be good to participate in the offseason as normal.
The biggest concern for Slovis at this point is making sure whatever was impacting his velocity during the 2020 season isn't an issue in the future.
How good is Kedon Slovis?
In case you've ever found yourself forgetting just how good Slovis really is, here are some numbers to put his peak performance in context.
The thing to note about Slovis is he put up those numbers with far less help than the other quarterbacks on that list. Fields, Burrow, Jones, Tagovailoa and Lawrence played for teams with great offensive lines and complimentary rushing attacks. Slovis had none of that.
Don't sleep on the kid in 2021.
USC hires more support staffers
On Monday, the Trojans added some new names to the support staff.
First up is Director of Scouting and Player Relations Jeff Martin, who was LSU's assistant director of player personnel and development.
Martin was a heavy-hitter for the Tigers, so his addition shouldn't be downplayed. The Trojans are not messing around when picking their new hires.
Next up is Megan Mueller, who was a recruiting assistant with Kansas and Colorado before joining the Trojans as the Director of Recruiting Operations.
Mueller spent a lot of time with Colorado, so she's familair with the Pac-12 recruiting landscape.
