Bronny James entered the transfer portal nearly two months ago. Since then, the former USC basketball guard has been in the gym preparing for the NBA Draft. Several analysts have ranked Lebon James’s eldest outside their list of draft-worthy players. However, several NBA teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, are reportedly interested in Bronny.

The Lakers have received the most pre-draft practice time with Bronny. The Phoenix Suns are the only additional team to have worked out the 19-year-old. Several NBA teams have attempted to bring the elder James son in for scouting, but Bronny’s agent has rebuffed each.

Agent Rich Paul has remained devoted to his plan to limit the former USC Trojan to workouts for West Coast teams, which are a good fit for his client. Many fans might scoff at the strategy, but there is no debating the fact that Bronny is a unique prospect. Bronny’s talent doesn’t currently measure up to NBA standards, but his pedigree is uncanny.

Thus, it is understandable that Paul and the Klutch Sports Group are doing what they can to see their client drafted by the best team for James’s development. Phoenix is an ideal fit, considering its plethora of talent and management. Of course, the Lakers are also an excellent fit for Bronny because they offer him to opportunity to work with his old man.

Barring potential trades, the Lakers will enter Wednesday’s NBA Draft with pick Nos. 17 and 55, while the Suns hold pick No. 22. Recent reports suggest that the Dallas Mavericks are also interested in drafting James at pick No. 58.

Nothing stops a team outside the Lakers or Suns from drafting Bronny, especially if they’re trying to lure Lebron to their market. There’s also the possibility of a team drafting the elder James’ son early to make a later deal with the Lakers or Suns. Either way, Bronny’s tenure with the USC Trojans and college basketball is over.
