USC Basketball Recruiting: Bronny James may be headed to Southern California
By Joshua Burt
Bronny James, 18, is the eldest son of one of the greatest basketball players ever LeBron James. Bronny is a consensus 4-star point guard standing in at 6’3” and 190 pounds. He has been a highly regarded player and participated in the McDonald’s All-American game last month.
There has been plenty of speculation on where Bronny will be playing college ball. Two possible destinations have been Ohio State and the University of Southern California. Ohio State would make sense because his father has mentioned numerous times that he would have attended college in Columbus, OH if he hadn’t made the jump to the NBA right after high school.
USC is the other strong contender for Bronny’s services. He has been living for years in California and played high school basketball at Sierra Canyon in Los Angeles, CA. It would only seem natural to continue playing in the same city where he is beloved. He is already familiar with the city and his father is still playing with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Either way, it seems like Bronny is considering both options because of family connections. However, USC may be leading in the clubhouse. The 24/7 Sports recruiting website has recently updated its “Crystal Ball” predictions.
Trevor Andershock has the only prediction on this website. He has a perfect track record with accurately predicting 34/34 (100%) of his 2023 commitments. He is claiming now that there is a 100% chance that Bronny will be playing for the USC Trojans in 2023.
If that’s any indication of things to come – life may be getting interesting in Southern California.
