Jayden Maiava has the perfect description for USC's freakish WR duo

Ja'Kobe Lane and Makai Lemon are showing out for the Trojans so far this season, and quarterback Jayden Maiava is loving every bit of it.

USC is off to a fast start so far this season, starting out 2-0 with wins against Missouri State and Georgia Southern. Sure, those aren't power conference opponents, but the Trojans hung 73 points on Missouri State and 59 on Georgia Southern.

New starting quarterback Jayden Maiava seems to have settled in nicely, but it was probably easy with wide receivers like Ka'Jobi Lane and Makai Lemon to throw to. Lane and Lemon are so far the top two receivers for USC, with Lemon leading the way with 248 receiving yards and Lane with 124. They have a combined three touchdowns, and Maiava has just one word for the receiving duo.

"If I had to say one word, it's 'unstoppable,'" Maiava said in an interview with former USC quarterback Matt Leinart.

Lane had a show-stopping catch against Georgia Southern this past weekend, going up and catching a beautiful pass one-handed while being pulled down by the defender. It truly was a highlight play for the young receiver, and it shows that these guys truly are elite.

The USC offense struggled last season, but now Maiava at quarterback is helping get the ball to Lemon and Lane even more; they have the chance to go out and have more success than they did last season.

Both receivers obviously have their strengths in their own regard. Lane has the height to be able to go up and get anything thrown into his general area, which makes his a great threat. Lemon has the speed ti be able to beat anyone on a rout, so the moment he gets separation, Maiava knows he has a chance to get him the ball.

Maiava also used another word to describe how he feels having these guys as his receivers, and the word was "blessed." Not many quarterbacks have the supporting cast around them to build them up, os to have guys that Maiava can trust in the field can make all the difference for a quarterback.
