USC receiving room deserves a tremendous amount of credit, highlighted by great play

Every sports outlet of any form realistically needs to have the catch from USC wideout Ja'Kobi Lane as the 'Catch of the Week.' His one-handed snag in the end zone was simply incredible. Add that Lane was working through contact and had pass interference called on the play as the Georgia Southern player did not even attempt to play the ball but was instead actively looking to just take a 15-yard penalty, and this truly was an all-timer.

Trojan fans already know what Lane is capable of. Similar clips from him have been seen before. To see Lane, though, pull off THAT incredible catch in a game is something truly special.

Lane finished the day with 93 yards on three catches with that score. Not to be outdone, Makai Lemon contributed in his own right with a four-reception outing that amounted to 158 yards and two touchdowns.

While playing against what can only honestly be described as a porous defense, it is still impressive from the Trojan WR duo. After all, teams will often play against G5 teams without having their top wideout targets going for massive days.

Increasingly, there is a great argument to be made that USC truly has the best receiver room and/or the best duo. When factoring in others on the depth chart like Tanook Hines and Zacharyus Williams, plus Prince Strachan, who missed the game due to an injury, it is going to be hard for any team other than Ohio State to boast about a more complete receiver room in their program.

Known legacy at USC

USC is, of course, used to and fully capable of supporting and ensuring that multiple star players receive their recognition and touches throughout the season. The program has a legacy of doing this. Depending on what happens once the Big Ten schedule begins, USC could very well see two USC receivers in a position to pick up some awards at the end of the year.
