A lot of the attention with the USC game against Georgia Southern is focused around the return of coach Clay Helton to the Coliseum. While that is a notable and significant storyline, there are regular game day undertakings that are occurring as there would be with any other matchup for the Trojans.
This includes the visits of several notable commits and targets. Week 1 saw many players on the sidelines to witness the thrashing of Missouri State. Week 2 is not any different.
Just like the home opener, USC will have a lot of 'stars' on the sidelines, hoping to witness a similar result against the Eagles.
Among those of the class of 2026, the following high schoolers are expected to be present for the non-conference game:
Keenyi Pepe, Breck Kolojay, Luc Weaver, Esun Tafa, Talanoa Ili, Tomuhini Topui, Simote Katoanga, Andrew Williams, and Jake Johnson.
The class of 2027 is already starting to take shape, with targets continuing to warm up to the idea of committing to the Cardinal and Gold. Trojan targets and current juniors who are slated to watch the action in person are the following:
Quentin Hale, Gavin Williams, Taven Epp, and Kingston Celifie.
Familiar USC recruiting pattern
Many of these names should be recognized by those who follow the team's activity throughout the summer. After all, the commits in the class of 2026 have made it a habit of becoming as familiar as possible with the campus and team culture well before officially joining the fold.
This list should also show the continued effort of USC to ensure that sustainable recruiting practices are in place. Some may view making headway for players so far out as a waste of time. Certainly, not every person that the Trojans reach out to will end up joining USC. By developing relationships, however, and by making a continuous effort, the program is putting itself in the best position to continue any and all momentum for the future of Troy.
