Saturday's game against Michigan State will be important for USC for obvious reasons. As always, there are important off-field aspects that will be taking place for the Trojans.

Recruiting is a constant 365-day-a-year endeavor. This is especially true for the coaching staff and support personnel.

It is also important to consider what has led to much of the latest success on the trail. Building and maintaining relationships is of the utmost importance when it comes to the modern approach. Some believe that recruiting is only a question of money and NIL. By far, with how the current rules are set up, in theory, USC holds an advantage in that regard.

Even so, all programs will be able to (directly or otherwise) put up competing bids for players. If someone ends up picking a school for the sole reason of what comes in regards to monetary value, then they are not likely to be putting themselves in a position to have a good college career. It is known, after all, about the stories in which players have, by all means and purposes, made a decision more or less on what initially appeared to be more financially advantageous, only for things to quickly fizzle out.

This is why it is going to be important to remember that, while money will, of course, continue to play a role, it is significantly more important for the Trojans to continue to show the level of investment that they have been in the players, both current and the USC student-athletes-to-be.

Among some of the players who will be present from the class of 2026 are the following:

Mark Bowman, Elbert Hill, Simote Katoanga, Tomuhini Topui, Trent Mosley, Luc Weaver, Esun Tafa, Kannon Smith, Chase Deniz, Ja’Myron ‘Tron’ Baker, Andrew Williams, Antoine Baker, Sefa Sackey, Jaimeon Winfield, Brandon Lockhart, Madden Riordan, Malik Brooks, and Taylor Johnson.
