It has been quite the journey for USC wide receiver Prince Strachan. From going to not playing organized football to playing in the College Football Playoffs, the junior will now embark on a 2025 season with the Trojans.

His family is from the Bahamas, and the Strachans worked together to work on each other's craft and improve by playing against each other. Mike Strachan, now in the NFL with the Washington Commanders, is a testament to their early efforts and how their dedication to the game resulted in being one of the more promising talents at the position.

For the younger Strachan brother, he arrives in Los Angeles after spending two years at Boise State. Going from the Mountain West Conference to the level of competition in a Power Four conference in the Big Ten is an elevated challenge. He recognizes that.

If someone is going to make the most of this opportunity and show that they can make a consistent contribution for coach Lincoln Riley in the HC's offensive scheme.

Considering how Strachan grew up and learned the game, there should not be any reason to worry about the step up or any fear of his ability to make it work against BIG defenses.

Size and skill set translate. Combine those attributes with his work ethic, and it isn't too hard to see Strachan carving a nice role for himself at USC. To go along with his 6'5" frame, he has an outstanding ability to make contested catches and has the needed athletic burst to position himself for his quarterback to get the ball to him.

Ja'Kobi Lane and Makai Lemon are set to feature as the top one-two duo this year. Someone else will also need to step up at specific times during the course of the season. Jayden Maiava will, furthermore, need to develop chemistry and trust with others who aren't Lemon or Lane.

Earning his place within the USC offense

It's good to have go-to targets, but someone like Strachan will also be poised to play significant snaps and have his chance to impress.

Leaning on his prior CFP experience and the drive to get to this point, Strachan is someone for Trojan fans to look forward to watching as he continues to grow his game. He may be a relative late bloomer to the sport, but make no mistake, Strachan is an exceptional talent who will be a good WR option for Maiava to be able to turn to during the 2025 season.
