The patience has paid off for USC fans. By the end of this month, the Trojans will have competed in an actual football game. After what has seemed like a multiyear wait, coach Lincoln Riley will lead his team out at the Coliseum with something at stake for the record.

Being less than a month away from the Missouri State game signals how close fans are to the return to the action.

This has also been symbolized through the opening of training camp. With news continuing to come from the practice field, it is becoming all that much more of a reality as to the season beginning.

It is known that the questions about this team will not be truly answered until the games themselves take place. Until then, differing factions of people who are at varying degrees of either optimism or pessimism will continue to debate the various aspects of USC and how good the components will be in 2025.

Still, it has been months since USC took the field. While the Trojans are expected to have a decisive win against the Bears on August 30, it will still be a matchup that all USC fans will look forward to tuning into, filling the void that has been left since the Las Vegas Bowl against Texas A&M.

Ready to watch USC play again

While for some, even the hypothetical 30-point victory would not be enough to be convinced about the progress that has objectively taken place under coach Riley this offseason, this game will mark the beginning in which the answers surrounding this team begin to solidify.

In either event, USC fans have made it. The Trojans have entered a month in which the Cardinal and Gold will showcase their abilities and look to prove that they have indeed improved and are ready to make a significant statement in the Big Ten.
