USC football will take on Colorado in a decisive Pac-12 south game at midday

Two teams will enter Saturday’s game between USC football and Colorado undefeated. Only one of them will exit that way.

That explains why ABC snatched up the rights to broadcast the unexpectedly huge matchup between the Trojans and Buffaloes.

The game will kickoff at 12:30 p.m. PT with a national audience tuning in.

USC football and Colorado will have the division on the line at the Coliseum

Considering the response to Colorado hiring Karl Dorrell to replace Mel Tucker, the team has started better than anyone would have hoped. They are 2-0 with wins over UCLA and Stanford to start Dorrell’s tenure.

In those victories, Colorado was able to put points on the board with new quarterback Sam Noyer leading the way. However, their defense has had their troubles, giving up 37 points per game.

The game will be a great test of USC’s defense, which put in their best performance of the season against Utah. It’ll also put the microscope on the Trojan offense, which hasn’t taken off yet in 2020.

The Buffaloes have never beaten USC in 14 tries stretching back to 1927. While they met sparingly over the decades, this will be their 10th meeting since Colorado entered the Pac-12. USC needs to make sure the 10th time isn’t the charm.

Last year they kept it close, forcing USC to play to the end in a narrow 35-31 victory. The head coach and quarterback from that team are gone. However, Mel Tucker’s assistant coaching staff was largely kept intact so they’ll know what to expect from the Trojans.
