USC football vs. Washington State will be broadcast on FS1 at 6:30 or 7:30 p.m.
Washington State is USC’s lone crossover opponent from the North division, which is a stroke of fortune for Clay Helton and company. The Cougars are in a transitional period having lost head coach Mike Leach to the SEC and quarterback Anthony Gordon to graduation.
New head coach Nick Rolovich was picked up from Hawaii and will be getting his first taste of Pac-12 competition when the season begins. It’ll be an up hill battle for him given the cancellation of his first Spring Camp, the upheaval of the coronavirus pandemic and all the gaps that need filling on the roster.
By comparison, USC is returning most of their offensive production. Even though new defensive coordinator Todd Orlando will be installing his scheme in a hurry, the Trojans will have had several weeks to get their feet wet going into the Friday night matchup.
Before having to worry about Washington State, USC will first have to make it through a home opener against Arizona State on Nov. 7 at 9:00 a.m. PT on FOX.
Road trips to Arizona and Utah will follow before another Saturday at the Coliseum against Colorado on Nov. 28.
The Trojans will then finish up the regular season on Dec. 12 against UCLA at the Rose Bowl.
