USC football recruiting: Top 2022 CB in CA names Top 10
Four-star cornerback Domani Jackson named USC football in his Top 10.
USC football didn’t pick up any new commitments during the Fourth of July weekend, but there were still some positive developments for the Trojans.
On Saturday, four-star cornerback Domani Jackson announced his Top 10 schools, including USC in the mix.
Jackson is also considering Texas, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, Oklahoma, Georgia and ASU.
Keeping with the theme of the weekend, particularly in Los Angeles, Jackson posted a video on Twitter with fireworks revealing the logos of his choices.
Why does USC football want Domani Jackson?
USC football’s tie to Jackson is simple and obvious. For one, he’s among the top prospects for the class of 2022.
The 247Sports early rankings for the class have Jackson No. 12 nationally. He is No. 2 among cornerbacks and No. 2 in the state of California.

That brings us to the next link between USC and Jackson: He plays for high school football powerhouse Mater Dei, a noted Trojan pipeline.
Jackson played varsity as a freshman and managed two interceptions. As a sophomore in 2019, he posted 48 tackles, an interception and nine pass breakups.
Beyond those stats, Jackson has managed another impressive number at the high school level. This summer he was hand-timed running the 40-yard dash in 4.22 seconds. That’s an unreal time for an athlete who also stands 6-foot-1, 185 pounds.
It’s no wonder Jackson projects as a top-level recruit for the next cycle.
CHECK OUT: USC’s Mount Rushmore of Defensive Backs
Fortunately, USC has all the tools to convince Jackson the cardinal and gold should be in his future. Cornerbacks coach Donte Williams is an exceptional recruiter while another voice should be in the mix working to turn Jackson’s head. Trojan quarterback commit Miller Moss is set to play for the Monarchs this year.
USC’s class of 2021 has a wealth of defensive backs on the way, including four-star athletes Calen Bullock, Anthony Beavers Jr. and Jaylin Smith. However, those prospects all end up at safety or other positions when all is said and done. The Trojans don’t have any cornerbacks committed for 2022.
