USC football recruiting’s next commit? Aaron Armitage
The Trojans’ pursuit of defensive lineman could take them to Blairstown, New Jersey where four-star defensive end Aaron Armitage has made a name for himself.
The 6-foot-4, 242-pounder ranks No. 197 in the 247Sports composite. He is No. 15 at strongside defensive end and No. 3 in New Jersey.
He has a frame to build on and athleticism worth developing, making him a target coveted by teams across the nation.
USC’s pursuit of Armitage links back to the hiring of new defensive line coach Vic So’oto. He was the one who offered him in 2018 while with Virginia. On the very day the Trojans officially announced the hire, Armitage picked up a scholarship offer.
In April, Armitage named a Top 5 of Florida, Oregon, LSU, Stanford and USC, but the Trojans appear to hold a significant edge in his recruitment. At writing, 11 experts in the 247Sports Crystal Ball predicted USC as Armitage’s landing spot.
He doesn’t have a stated commitment plan, but USC should be on high alert when he does ultimately make a decision.
