Five-star kicker Parker Lewis committed to USC football’s recruiting class of 2020 on Sunday, keeping the Trojans special teams future bright.
USC football picked up yet another commitment for 2020 on Sunday afternoon as Saguaro’s Parker Lewis joined the class.
As a kicker, Lewis rates as a five-star prospect per Kohl’s Kicking Camps. He ranks seventh in the class and can also fill a role as a punter, ranking 14th in that regard. Kohl’s Kicking commended him for having “one of the strongest legs in his class.”
Lewis announced his commitment via Twitter, with a handful of thanks to everyone who got him to where he is:

“First off, I want to thank God for all he’s done for me and allowing me to play the game of football. Thank you to my family and friends who have supported me throughout this entire process. Thank you Coach Mohns, Sam Watts, and all of the other Saguaro High School Coaches who have made me a better Student/Athlete. Lastly, thank you Coach Helton and Coach Baxter for having the confidence in me and providing me this opportunity. With all this being said, I am excited to say that I will be committing to the University of Southern California. #FightOn.”
Lewis is by no means a small kicker. He stands 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, which could make him even more of an asset on special teams in the mold of another linebacker-sized kicker in USC history, David Buehler.
The Trojans offered Lewis a full-ride scholarship back in June, so he will count towards the class of 2020.
USC already has two scholarship kickers on the books, but Lewis should be welcome to fill a space when he arrives in 2020 with current kicker Chase McGrath entering his final year of college eligibility that same year. Backup kicker Michael Brown, who is also on scholarship, will be in his redshirt senior season as well.
