Four-star power forward J’Raan Brooks announced his decision to re-commit to USC Basketball’s 2018 recruiting class on Sunday.

Four months after losing the commitment of four-star power forward J’Raan Brooks, USC Basketball has it back.

The Seattle-product, who had originally committed to the Trojans over the summer, de-committed from USC this fall, expressing concern over the arrest of assistant coach Tony Bland and USC’s link to the FBI probe into college basketball.

Shortly after that, Brooks committed to St. John’s, but he backed off that pledge in February. Now, he says he’s ready to land in Los Angeles.

I will be wearing cardinal and gold for the next 4 years…. Dreams do come true! FTFO✌?I’m Officially committed to the U. Of Southern California Trojans!

“I will be wearing cardinal and gold for the next 4 years,” Brooks wrote on Instagram. “Dreams do come true!”

USC could use another power forward on the roster and Brooks should supply just that at 6-foot-8, 215 pounds. His presence will be especially key with Chimezie Metu potentially leaving for the NBA after this season. Nick Rakocevic, Harrison Henderson and Victor Uyaelunmo are the only other power forwards on the roster.

His re-commitment comes as a boost for Andy Enfield and company on what had been a frustrating day. Earlier on Sunday, USC was passed over for a bid to the NCAA Tournament, ending up as a No. 1 see in the NIT.

At the very least, Enfield has proven an ability to bring a higher-quality of recruit to USC in his five years in Los Angeles.

Ranked 78th nationally in the 247Sports composite, Brooks becomes USC’s third Top 80 player for the class. Along with four-star shooting guard Kevin Porter and four-star point guard Elijah Weaver, the class of 2018 now looks like one of the most loaded in Trojan history.
