USC outside linebackers coach Johnny Nansen and offensive coordinator Tee Martin earned top billing in the 247Sports Pac-12 Recruiter of the Year rankings.

USC’s Pac-12-best recruiting hail in 2018 unsurprisingly resulted in two Trojan coaches topping the charts in the 247Sports’ recruiter rankings. Johnny Nansen was named Pac-12 Recruiter of the Year while Tee Martin ranked second behind him.

Nansen was credited with being the primary recruiter on a monster group of seven elite recruits, including five-star linebacker Palaie Gaoteote, four-star linebackers Solomon Tuliaupupu, Abdul-Malik McClain, Kana’i Mauga and Elijah Winston, while also closing on four-star defensive tackle Caleb Tremblay and four-star athlete Talanoa Hufanga. He was the secondary recruiter for linebacker Raymond Scott.

In national rankings, Nansen slotted in sixth, behind top recruiter Dell McGee from Georgia, Greg Schiano from Ohio State, Jason Washington from Texas, Sam Pittman from Gerogia and Tony Alford from Ohio State.

The one holdover from Steve Sarkisian’s Washington staff at USC, Nansen has proven himself as an asset in recruiting, particularly when it comes to connecting with Polynesian prospects.

This is the fifth-straight year USC managed to place the top recruiter in the Pac-12, with former running backs coach Tommie Robinson taking home the Pac-12 Recruiter of the Year title in 2017.

Martin owned the title for three years from 2014 through 2016 and while he hasn’t extended that streak, he’s been in and around the conversation every year.

This year he finished second, doing his part as Scott’s primary recruiter while also leading the way to sign five-star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and four-star receiver Devon Wiliiams.

Defensive backs coach Ronnie Bradford ranked 13th in the Pac-12, landing coveted cornerbacks Olaijah Griffin and Isaac Taylor-Stuart.

Support staffer Gavin Morris also got a nod at No. 15 as a primary recruiter on four-star corner Chase Williams and a secondary recruiter for St. Brown, quarterback JT Daniels, Griffin, Taylor-Stuart and Winston.
