Freshman cornerback Greg Johnson’s season is over with a shoulder injury. Here is the USC injury report coming out of the Washington State game.
Injuries decimated the USC lineup against Washington State, including a season-ending injury to cornerback Greg Johnson.
The freshman suffered a shoulder injury which will require surgery, ending his debut year early. He becomes the third first-year player to be lost to injury, joining linebacker Tayler Katoa and safety Isaiah Pola-Mao on the injury list.
As for the rest of the Trojans who were injured on Friday night, there is a less clear picture on how long they will miss out.
USC Injury Report:
- Out for season: K Michael Brown (knee), CB Greg Johnson (shoulder), LB Tayler Katoa (knee), CB Jonathan Lockett (hip), S Isaiah Pola-Mao (shoulder)
- Out: OLB Hunter Echols (hip), TE Daniel Imatorbhebhe (hip), OT Nathan Smith (knee),
- Questionable: RB Stephen Carr (foot), DL Malik Dorton (knee) OL Chuma Edoga (ankle), DL Josh Fatu (knee), WR Jalen Greene (concussion), OLB Porter Gustin (toe/bicep), LB Jordan Iosefa (concussion), LT Toa Lobendahn (infection), WR Steven Mitchell (groin), OL Viane Talamaivao (pectoral), DL Marlon Tuipulotu (knee)
- Probable: WR Deontay Burnett (shoulder), DL Rasheem Green (ankle)
Starting left tackle Toa Lobendahn did not travel with the team because of a skin infection. However, Helton seemed to indicate during his Sunday conference call that the veteran lineman would be back available this week.
Fellow lineman, right tackle Chuma Edoga, suffered an ankle injury during the game and will have to be evaluated on Tuesday. The same goes for right guard Viane Talamaivao, who injured his pectoral muscle.
Meanwhile, running back Stephen Carr was pulled from the game with a foot injury. More on his status will be known Tuesday.
On the defensive line, two Trojans suffered knee sprains against the Cougars. Nose tackle Josh Fatu and defensive tackle Malik Dorton will both be reassessed on Tuesday as well.
Defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu was also scratched from the Trojans travel plans. The freshman is dealing with a back injury, Helton reported.

A pregame collision put linebacker Jordan Iosefa and wide receiver Jalen Greene under concussion protocol. There is no telling how long each will be out.
The Trojans were also without linebacker Porter Gustin, tight end Daniel Imatorbhebhe and wide receiver Steven Mitchell on Friday.
Gustin is still rehabbing a toe fracture and bicep tear. No timetable has been set for his return.

Mitchell could return this week after two weeks out, but Imatorbhebhe is not expected to return any sooner than USC’s rivalry tilt with Notre Dame two weeks down the line.
