Safety Isaiah Pola-Mao separated his shoulder as the Trojans scrimmaged at the Coliseum. Here’s the final USC injury report of fall camp.

USC Football’s final practice of fall camp, a live scrimmage at the Coliseum, featured no major injury worries, though there were some small knocks to attend to.

Safety Isaiah Pola-Mao came out because of a separated shoulder he seemed to sustain after a collision with running back Ronald Jones II.

Meanwhile, a number of Trojans sat out, including defensive back Ykili Ross, who was rested as a precaution because of shoulder soreness. However, he is expected to return to action on Monday.

Outside linebacker Hunter Echols also missed practice because of a medical procedure he underwent to clean up an infection in his hip joint.

USC Injury Report:

  • Out for camp: LB Tayler Katoa (knee), CB Jonathan Lockett (hip), OT Nathan Smith (knee)
  • Out: LB Matt Bayle (undisclosed), TE Josh Falo (knee), LB Bryce Matthews (undisclosed), WR Michael Pittman (ankle), OL Cole Smith (knee), RB James Toland (groin), OL Alijah Vera-Tucker (hamstring), OL Andrew Voorhees (back), WR Keyshawn “Pie” Young (hamstring)
  • Questionable: OLB Hunter Echols (hip), S Isaiah Pola-Mao (shoulder)
  • Limited: DL Kenny Bigelow (knee),  CB Je’Quari Godfrey (knee), TE Daniel Imatorbhebhe (hip), DB Isaiah Langley (shoulder)

Along with Ross and Echols, the usual suspects were stranded on rehab island for the day. Tight end Daniel Imatorbhebhe suited up, but did not see live action.

As expected, wide receivers Michael Pittman and Velus Jones did not dress, nor did Keyshawn “Pie” Young, cornerback Je’Quari Godfrey, lineman Kenny Bigelow, offensive tackles Andrew Voorhees and Alijah Vera-Tucker, center Cole Smith and tight end Josh Falo.

Pittman remains with his foot in a boot as he recovers from a high-ankle sprain, but he was no longer riding in a cart on Saturday. Jones was out of his boot as well.

Head coach Clay Helton also confirmed what had already seemed a likelihood: cornerback Jonathan Lockett will miss the 2017 season after undergoing hip surgery.

The senior defender has a redshirt year available to him and he will take it, giving him the opportunity to return for the Trojans next year.
