USC football’s newly released 2017 roster does not include kicker Matt Boermeester or defensive lineman Kevin Scott, with both under suspension.

The future of both Matt Boermeester and Kevin Scott at USC looks cloudy as neither player is currently listed on the 2017 USC football roster.

Both the kicker and the defensive lineman are, however, listed among USC’s squadmen lost in the spring media guide.

The spring prospectus does address Boermeester’s absence saying, “USC could be without placekicker Matt Boermeester, whose 46-yard field goal with no time remaining dramatically won the Rose Bowl last year, because of a student code of conduct issue.”

Boermeester was suspended at the start of February while he awaits the results of a code of conduct investigation, which Deadspin reported was related to an incident involving his ex-girlfriend.

If Boermeester is unavailable for the Trojans come the fall, kicker Michael Brown is likely to take his place as USC’s primary place kicker.

Scott, who missed the Rose Bowl due to academic ineligibility, is not referenced beyond his departure.

The Salesion-product had never played a snap for the Trojans, so coping with his loss is simply a question of bodies, which USC stocked up on in the 2017 recruiting cycle.

Another player suspended for the bowl game does still appear on USC’s roster though. Olajuwon Tucker remains listed at outside linebacker as a rotational option.

Meanwhile, offensive lineman E.J. Price, who was taken off the roster in September as he mulled a transfer but is rumored to be pursuing a comeback, is not listed among returning or departing squadmen.

Considering USC’s scholarship concerns heading into Signing Day, on the edge of the 85-man roster limit, it is also notable that former walk ons Matt Lopes and James Toland remain on the roster. The two redshirt juniors could still depart in May after academic graduation.
