USC vs. Alabama will be the stage on which the Trojans debut their new white uniforms as the designated road team for the Advocare Classic.
When the Trojans unveiled new uniforms on Monday, with a cardinal collar and cuff on the white away jerseys, a new question arose: which of those uniforms would make its debut at the season opener against Alabama.
Now we know, when USC vs. Alabama kicks off at AT&T Stadium on September 3, the men of Troy will be wearing their new white uniforms as the designated road team.
USC answered the question on Twitter Tuesday morning, while also giving fans another look at the away get up.
That means USC will wear their white aways at least five times this season — first against Alabama, then against Stanford, Utah, Arizona and Washington. Though the Trojans are the away team versus UCLA this year, both teams wear their home colors for that rivalry match up.

USC’s uniform redesign came in conjunction with an overall athletics department rebrand. The university unified the motifs, numerals and fonts to be used across all of its athletics programs, prompting a change to the numbers on USC’s jerseys.
The new features of the rebranding also led to the addition of the new Trojan key pattern which now appears on the collars and cuffs of the Trojan football jerseys. It had previously been used for USC basketball uniforms.
The decision to add a cardinal collar to the away uniform was likely a side effect of wanting to incorporate that pattern, though a similar collar had been worn in 1989 by the Trojans.
