Greg Rogers, 4-Star DT, Names USC Football in Top 6
Four-star defensive tackle Greg Rogers, one of the top lineman in the 2017 recruiting class, named USC football among his Top 6 schools Sunday afternoon.
Greg Rogers, the four-star defensive lineman out of Arbor View in Las Vegas, announced his Top 6 schools Sunday with USC football making the cut.
In a posting on RecruitDiaries.com, Rogers laid out the six schools in contention for his signature: Arizona State, Colorado, Michigan, Oklahoma, UCLA and USC.
Rogers also indicated that he plans to commit on December 9 later this year.
"The decision for me to cut down to six schools was very hard, yet very easy through guidance from the Lord and my family. We took a close look at every single school in order to decide where I would best fit in. Each school was reviewed based on academics, scheme, and relationships that I have built with the coaching staff. As of right now, I have no leader and will not know which one will be my leader until I get ready to commit. My commitment date is set for “ December 9, 2016”. Until then, I will continue to keep building strong relationships with these six schools and continue working hard to be a better me."
The 6-foot-3, 305-pound tackle is ranked as the No. 5 DT for 2017, according to the 247Sports composite. He is considered the No. 95 player in the class overall.
Rogers visited USC unofficially in April and stands as one of the Trojans’ top targets.

Having lost five defensive linemen to graduation following the 2015 season, USC has a great need for big men up front.
The Trojans signed junior college transfer Josh Fatu at defensive tackle and three-star defensive end Liam Jimmons in the 2016 class but were lighter on defensive linemen than expected.
There are no defensive lineman currently committed to USC for the class of 2017.
As it stands, this year’s class is six recruits strong, with running back Stephen Carr, safety Bubba Bolden, linebackers Juliano Falaniko and Daniel Green, wide receiver Marlon Williams and athlete Randal Grimes.
