USC Football Recruiting: Bo Calvert Commits to the Trojans
Oaks Christian linebacker Bo Calvert committed to USC football for the 2018 recruiting class after receiving a scholarship offer Wednesday.
USC football’s 2018 recruiting class grew by one Wednesday as Oaks Christian linebacker Bo Calvert committed to the Trojans, according to 247Sports.
Calvert received a scholarship offer Wednesday morning and wasted no time in joining teammate Matt Corrall in the USC fold. Corrall, a four-star quarterback for Oaks Christian, committed to the Trojans earlier this year.
“God is Great! I would like to extend the warmest and most sincere words of gratitude to everyone in my life who has shaped me into the man I have become. ‘Thank you’ is not enough, but I would like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches that have helped through this all,” the recruit wrote on Twitter. “I am humble and proud to announce that as of today I am closing down my recruiting process and committing to the University Of Southern California. FIGHT ON.”
As an outside linebacker, Calbert racked up 58 tackles during his sophomore season on the varsity team. He also had one sack in 2015.

Measuring in at 6-foot-5, 215 heading into his junior season, Calvert has yet to be evaluated by any of the major recruiting services, but his star is expected to rise as his high school career progresses.
On Tuesday, USC lost cornerback Thomas Graham for the 2017 class when he de-committed after opening up his recruitment months ago.
While the 2018 class now boasts two commits, the 2017 class has just three commits on the board — four-star running back Stephen Carr, four-star safety Bubba Bolden and three-star wide receiver Marlon Williams.
