Four-star offensive tackle E.J. Price announced his commitment to USC Wednesday, giving the Trojans a major Signing Day victory in the South.

Archer High School offensive tackle E.J. Price committed to play football for USC over hometown favorite Georgia and Auburn Wednesday.

That makes him the 19th commitment for USC in the class of 2016 as Signing Day rolls on. Here’s a look at the new Trojan:

E.J. Price | Offensive Tackle

Height: 6-6  Weight: 311

Scout’s Take: It might be hard to believe, now that Price is 6-foot-6 and 311 pounds, but the offensive lineman used to play quarterback. The athleticism that allowed him to play the position in his younger days is the same athleticism which makes him such an interesting prospect in the trenches now.

With his size and energy, Price excels as a lead blocker in the run game.

Price is considered one of the top tackle prospects in the country for the 2016 class. Rivals is the only recruiting service which ranks him outside of the Top 10 at his position and outside of the Top 100 in terms of overall recruits available.

Impact: USC has done well to recruit on the offensive line over the past few cycles and 2016 looks no different with Price in the fold along with previously committed linemen Nathan Smith and Frank Martin.

Even a highly-touted recruit like Price is unlikely to see the field too early at USC these days however. Instead, Price’s value should come down the line after some time to develop.

Having said that, true freshman Chuma Edoga and redshirt freshman Chris Brown saw plenty of time in the rotation in 2015, so anything is possible.
