Dixon was expelled from the university this May due to an undisclosed student-conduct issue. He was suspended for a game in 2014 and missed all of spring camp while his case was handled.

Still, over the summer Dixon expressed interest in returning to USC as his legal options were explored. At Pac-12 media days Steve Sarkisian indicated that he would welcome the tight end back to the squad if his status changed.

Now, it looks like Dixon will be able to return to school and it seems highly likely that there will be a place for him on USC’s roster while the legal issues are hammered out.

Junior linebacker Su’a Cravens was the most high profile Trojan to five Dixon a shout out on Twitter.

Sophomore linebacker Olajuwon Tucker retweeted the news about Dixon’s status then had this to say.

Walk-on redshirt freshman safety Davante Nunnery added his support.

UPDATED: Defensive lineman Claude Pelon also welcomed his teammate back.

Adoree’ Jackson joined in the celebrations by USC players as well.
