After a long offseason full of an abundance of hype and woulda-coulda-shouldas on last season, it’s time for the Trojans to start working on backing up all of the talk that’s been thrown around from the media thus far.

Doing so won’t be easy.

They’ll have to replace one of the best interior linemen in school history, Leonard Williams. Then there’s the loss of All-American wide receiver Nelson Agholor, who caught 104 passes last season.

On top of that, USC is without the most prolific running back since Reggie Bush and LenDale White, after Buck Allen opted to skip his senior season and enter the 2015 NFL Draft.

Gone are the Trojans’ trio of Floridian playmakers and in are a young crop of blue-chippers that formed the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation. That brings with it plenty of expectations, especially in areas where USC needs help immediately.

Will new faces like Iman Marshall and Rasheem Green be ready to contribute from jump? Can returning stars Cody Kessler and Su’a Cravens take the next step on a national stage? And will players like Jabari Ruffin, Kenny Bigelow and Tre Madden stay healthy to reach their potential?

Answers will begin to percolate tonight, as the Trojans begin the long road towards what they hope is a successful season.

On Friday, the initiation process began. The players checked into their fall camp dorms and then participated in a photo shoot at the Coliseum to film promo reels and player introductions for USC’s video team.

Here’s a quick run through of what went down on the eve of the first practice, with an official video from the Trojans’ YouTube account, along with some inside looks at the photoshoot from the players themselves.

Saturday night’s practice kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at Howard Jones Field and is open to the public. For a full camp schedule of open practice dates, click here.
