Thomas Graham Commits to USC’s 2017 Recruiting Class
By Hank Shaw
USC picked up their third commitment to the 2017 recruiting class on Wednesday with a verbal from four-star Rancho Cucamonga cornerback Thomas Graham.

Graham was on campus just last week for USC’s Rising Stars Camp, where he received a long awaited scholarship offer from Steve Sarkisian and company.
The announcement came at the Ground Zero ceremony in Rancho Cucamonga, as seen below via USCFootball.com‘s Gerard Martinez on Instagram.

The pick of the Trojans over the likes of ASU and UCLA couldn’t have been made harder by the fact that Graham’s older sister is a signee in USC’s 2015 track & field class. Together, the Grahams form a unique two-sport package deal that looks to keep the siblings local.
Graham is ranked as the 42nd best 2017 recruit in the 247Sports Composite and fourth among cornerbacks, making him a player of emphasis for defensive backs coach Keith Heyward.

He’s the third commitment to the 2017 class, along with running back and teammate Stephen Carr and wide receiver Amari Rodgers, best known as Tee Martin’s oldest son.

It’s remarkably early for the 2017 class, but the Trojans’ trio of commitments is as good of an early crop of verbals as we’ve seen in recent years, especially given their connections.
Graham and Carr are both at Rancho Cucamonga High, along with being teammates on the Ground Zero 7-on team, which is led by Armond Hawkins, the father of current USC defensive back Chris Hawkins.
That’s significant, given the turnover of junior commitments, most recently seen in the 2014 class with Jordan Poland and Casey Tucker. Both committed to USC in the summer of 2012, only to de-commit later on, before signing with Arizona and Stanford, respectively.
Who’s next in the 2017 class? We’ll have to wait and see, though the name of Tate Martell never seems to stop trending on Twitter.
