We’re still more than two and a half months away from USC vs. Arkansas State, but it’s never too early for gamblers. The line is out on 5Dimes, and as expected, the Trojans are heavy, heavy favorites.

According to USC beat reporter and sports betting expert Max Meyer, the line is set at 31 points, with an odd/under of 69.5 points. If you want to do the math, that puts the score at roughly 50-19 in favor of the Trojans.

Last year, USC opened the season with a 52-13 romp of Fresno State, a team coming off of an 11-win season. Despite being 7-6 last year, Arkansas State might actually be better than Fresno State, considering that the Bulldogs were without much of the talent that made them a strong team in 2013. ASU however, keeps finding ways to reload.

Arkansas State has represented the Sun Belt as the conference champion in the GoDaddy.com Bowl four years running, with 2014 being on a technicality given Georgia Southern’s bowl ineligibility.

Nonetheless, the Red Wolves have long been the class of the Sun Belt, which is a big part of the reason why they’ve had four coaches in five years.

That said, the Trojans should be in position to play themselves into a comfortable win if early season jitters don’t get in the way. USC has all of the talent in the world compared to Arkansas State and hasn’t lost a home opener since 1997.
