After a long recruiting process, four-star linebacker Porter Gustin of Salem Hills, Utah will make his college decision known to the masses before Signing Day, on Tuesday, February 3rd. He’s expected to choose between USC, Arizona State, Ohio State, Utah and Notre Dame.
Gustin told Sporting News that the decision would come before signing day as the five teams jockey for position.

The final stretch of Gustin’s recruitment has been full of visits with the staffs of his remaining options, including USC. Gustin took his official visit to USC on January 16 and met up with Trojan coaches later in the week as well.

Gustin is the second-ranked player in Utah behind new USC commit Osa Masina. Their friendship seemed to put weight behind the Trojan recruiting pitch but it now looks like a tight race heading toward Tuesday.
USC is hoping to secure the services of Gustin and fellow four-star linebacker John Houston on Signing Day. They would join a class which already includes Masina, a five-star, and Cameron Smith, a four-star inside linebacker who is already at USC.
