Four-star San Clemente quarter Jack Sears flipped his commitment from Duke to USC football on Sunday night, according to 247Sports.
On Saturday night, USC football notched a major victory for the program, beating highly-ranked Washington in Seattle. On Sunday night, the Trojans picked up another big win, stealing four-star quarterback Jack Sears from Duke, according to a report from 247Sports.com.
Sears hails from San Clemente, the alma mater of current Trojan quarterback Sam Darnold, and is ranked the No. 5 pro-style quarterback for the class of 2017.
Back in August, Sears surprisingly committed to Duke, despite serious consideration from USC. On Sunday evening, however, Bruce Feldman reported that the Blue Devils had dropped the quarterback as he had started to look elsewhere.
Shortly after, Sears reportedly told Tom Loy of 247Sports that he had de-committed from Duke and had pledged to the Trojans.

If this story sounds familiar, it should. This is not the first time a commit to Duke has flipped to USC. Tight end Tyler Petite chose the Blue Devils over the Trojans in the summer 2014 only to change that commitment over to USC ahead of Signing Day in 2015.

Currently, the Trojans have 16 commits pledged to the 2016 recruiting class including Jack Sears. That includes highly touted five-star running back Stephen Carr, along with four-star offensive line prospects Alijah Vera-Tucker and Brett Neilon.
USC is 17th nationally in the 247Sports Composite team rankings with just less than three months until Signing Day.
With the Trojans riding high going into the final weeks of the season, they’ll look to close strong in what is Clay Helton’s first full recruiting cycle.
UPDATE:
The San Clemente Titans twitter account confirmed Sears’ commitment to USC and announced that the quarterback will enrolle at USC early
