The USC Trojans strengthened their top-ranked 2026 recruiting class this week with the commitment of cornerback Jakwon Morris. Hailing from Mississippi, Morris is currently ranked as the #1 cornerback in the Junior College ranks. He received 28 offers, primarily from Group of Five programs, before ultimately choosing to join the Trojans.
This commitment underscores USC’s aggressive approach to building its secondary. Standing 6'0" and weighing 170 lbs, Morris brings a combination of athleticism and elite size to the cornerback room. He marks the sixth cornerback commitment in the 2026 class, not including RJ Sermons, who reclassified to 2025. Overall, USC has secured commitments from several players who were originally part of the 2026 cycle, contributing to a class that now totals 33 commitments which is a significant portion of the roster.
In the overall class rankings, USC continues to hold the No. 1 spot nationally, widening its narrow lead over second-place Georgia. The Trojans currently boast a class score of 304.59, just ahead of Georgia’s 304.08. With the season USC is having and following a dominant, nationally televised win over Michigan, the Trojans appear increasingly likely to finish the recruiting cycle with the nation’s top-ranked class.
The tide is turning at USC from what has been seen in recent memory. Picking up this latest recruit is just one of many signs that things truly are progressing in Troy. Unlike what many other fan bases would have one believe, this is far from a mirage. The Trojans are forcing themselves back into the national discussion.
