Every USC fan knows how storied the quarterback room has always been. There is a reason why so many Trojan signal-callers would go on from college and then make it and play in the NFL. This is a school that best prepares all players for the pros.
With coach Lincoln Riley at the helm, QBU is set to continue its long stretch of excellent playmakers at the position.
For the Trojans, the staff is refusing to rest on the laurels of two top classes. Already with Jonas Williams secured as part of the class of 2026 and with freshman Husan Longstreet on the roster, USC is looking to add a top QB prospect further down the road.
Four-star signal caller Peyton Houston is garnering a lot of attention. Other interested programs include Clemson, LSU, and Texas. USC, however, has been keeping a steady presence in the picture for Houston, as they recently hosted the Evangel Christian Academy high schooler.
To this point, the relationship between Houston and the Trojan staff appears highly amicable. As things stand now, it looks hopeful that the allure of USC will keep the program in convention for the time being.
Part of what is making many attracted to the young quarterback's talent is how composed and accurate Houston is while in the pocket. Even in the face of pressure, he seems to find a way to keep his eyes downfield and make a deep completion, showing off his arm strength as needed.
Adding Houston to USC offense is an exciting prospect
He is also showing signs of maturity in his game as not being someone who relies on being a gunslinger. Instead, Houston is someone who makes the right plays and has shown a level of being able to run an offense.
Considering his skill set and ability to fit the ball in windows without putting it in harm's way, there would be something of an ideal fit in coach Riley's offense.
It is still a little bit out before a top three or a final decision is made. For USC, earning the commitment of Houston would be a highly welcomed recruiting win by the Trojan staff.
