Trojan fans may remember the former USC linebacker recently making his presence known on stage. While the NFL draft was an occasion of the LB showing the less-serious side of him, it does demonstrate his talent in the media game.

Among others to notice, Will Compton and Taylor Lewan have now announced that Matthews will be a permanent member of their Bussin with the Boys 'The Locker Room' show when the NFL season starts. Intending to break down the weekly matchups and provide picks, the product out of USC had it announced on one of the latest shows that he would become a permanent fixture in the retired players' programming.

In many ways, this is an ideal fit. Not someone to take himself too seriously, but also comes with an enormous amount of knowledge, Matthews playing off Compton and Lewan will make for a great regular season once Week 1 hits.

Not that this wasn't always the case, but especially since going independent, following their departure from Barstool Sports and signing an agreement with FanDuel, listeners can simply expect the same unfiltered and honest take from former professional athletes of the game that everyone enjoys.

In that sense, it is great seeing that Matthews will be a regular contributor on a platform that gives fun takes around relevant and interesting talking points that the rest of the NFL community is also discussing.

Part of Matthews' appearance will be making picks on the show. Knowing the type of competitor that he is and how closely he follows the sport, it's safe to assume that he'll take great pride in being among the top percentage pickers. For Lewan and Compton, they'll know that they invited someone whose aim will be to be the clear-cut best ATS (against the spread) selector week in and week out.

Unique setting for former USC LB

Various networks do something similar to what the three will be a part of. The difference on Bussin' is that they are able to seamlessly go from the topic of conversation to a personal caveat or relatable past event that then corresponds with what they are discussing.

If nothing else, it's another USC graduate representing the school's tradition and being a great representative of what it means to be a Trojan.
