In terms of making contested catches and winning off the snap, the Trojans secured the commitment of a good one on Saturday afternoon. Among a number of Trojan wins during the current recruiting cycle, seemingly all position groups are going to be in a good place for a long time to come. The wide receiver room is proving to be far from an exception to that rule.

On3's Hayes Fawcett reported on X that Luc Weaver had committed to USC. Part of the class of 2026, the Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame wideout has a tremendous amount of big-play potential. Other schools that wanted the young WR's services included Washington, Michigan, Utah, and UCLA.

In the shared post by Fawcett, the future Trojan let his decision be known and clear, however. In a fitting theme of what many recruits have been saying, he shared, "No place like home" and "Fight On." The continued push to secure local California talent has continued to pay dividends for GM Chad Bowden and coach Lincoln Riley.

Weaver is a three-sport high school athlete. As a junior, he went for over 1,000 yards receiving and had 10 touchdowns. Standing at 6'3" and around 194 lbs., his size, speed, and overall athleticism make him quite the talent to be a collegiate wideout, as evidenced by the amount of interest that he garnered during the recruiting process.

About to enter his senior year of high school, Weaver does well in working through contact to make difficult grabs. His speed sees him past the first level of the defense fairly quickly, and the quarterback can regularly look to him for big chunk gains.

Excellent future USC WR production from Weaver

When he gets the ball in the open field, he does well to accelerate and turn anything that could be a minimal gain into much more. If not a TD, Weaver is good at generating plays of 20 or 30 yards at a time.

He will join a top recruiting class that is slated to be followed up with another ensuing top class in the nation. A seemingly unstoppable snowball, this USC staff continues to show the power of Trojan recruiting when fully utilized.
